American Idol…Sadistic Crap

Filed under: Arts & Entertainment, Culture, Current Events, General, Rants — contrarythought @ 7:50 pm

American Idol is a perverse cruel show. How can anyone who has ever been humiliated by some sadistic bastard watch that piece of crap show. They say themselves they do “Tens of thousands auditioned in the seven cities”. Out of all those they can’t find (only) good singers? I know…we all know…they pick some losers on purpose to make it interesting or funny or whatever. They convince some delusional nitwit that they have a shot and then humiliate them on national television. What kind of sick twisted bastards sit around their family rooms and laugh at this sadistic crap. Maybe the millions of people who get a kick out of these first episodes are the same shit heads who pulled peoples shorts down during gym or shoved nerds into lockers in high school. Now they take some time out of torturing their pets to laugh at some talentless dupes on national television.

  1. I agree. Well Reality shows in general, blah. I’m sick of them all. Especially American Idol. If you’re interested, I wrote a reality show blog. You may like it, you may not, but I thought since it was kind of the same topic, you might like to know.

  2. Interesting. Is there any evidece that they purposely picked “losers?”

But, uh, yeah. Reality TV blows.

  3. How can any moderately intelligent group audition 10,000 people and not find 100 decent singers. I’m sure you could find 1% of the populace at large that were decent let alone people who consider themselves singers.

  4. I have a friend who auditioned for this season’s AI. You actually go before several panels of “judges” long before you ever get to Randy, Paula, and Simon. So, yes, the producers are deliberately letting these people through. I agree, it’s sadistic.

  5. C’mon, seriously! Only someone amazingly self-deluded would think that they have a shot if they really don’t. Now, I’m not really a fan of the show, but the people that end up in the finals or even near are all VERY good singers. Personally, I consider myself a decent singer, even a good singer, but I would never, NEVER in a million years consider trying out for something like American Idol. To have any chance in hell, you have to be an amazing singer, reasonably attractive, confident and outspoken but not arrogant, stylish, have unlimited amounts of free time to dedicate, etc etc etc. I was one of the kids that got picked on all throughout school, and personally the terrible tryouts are the only part of the show I like.
